Support .cc extension

Postby tomseddon » August 1st, 2016, 1:17 pm

I can't use Alt+M in a .cc file - DPack says it is a non-code file type. It's definitely C++ though because the compiler compiles it :)

There should perhaps be some way to configure this since the extensions aren't very well standardized (.hpp, .hxx, .hh, .cxx, .inl, etc. - not sure which set DPack supports already). Configuration might also make it possible to use the code browser with non-C languages, I suppose, if they're syntactically close enough.

Thanks,

Hi Tom,

In general, as long as VS exposes file code model for extensions to interrogate file's contents, it can be used by DPack, assuming project is of the supported type. So again, assuming .cc files are covered, and it does appear to be the case, you could add support for that manually. If it works fine I can patch it permanently for the next version. Close Visual Studio, open registry editor and locate the following key:

HKCU\Microsoft\VisualStudio\14.0_Config\DPack\Languages\{B5E9BD32-6D3E-4B5D-925E-8A43B79820B4}\Extensions

Add new DWORD value with 'cc' name and value of '1'. You should be good to go, and that applies to all browsers. Let me know how that turns out. HTH.
