Dock the Code Browser?

Postby rioch » March 2nd, 2009, 5:43 am

Hi, I'm very excited about DPack as when I develop in Linux, I use a nice plugin for GEdit to list my functions. However, I can't seem to dock it? Is it possible?

Hi,

Code Browser is not currently dockable. This feature's been requested before and is already in the queue. There are other items ahead of it though so it'll be a while before I get to it.

Thanks for bringing it up.

Good to hear it's in the pipeline. Great job on the plugin too!

I've replied to your other post http://www.usysware.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=119 . Not sure if you missed my reply or not but I thought I'd follow up with you here too. Thanks.

I've replied now. Sorry, I didn't get any notifications.

Whilst I'm here, do you have a roadmap for releases/feature implementation. I'd love to know if I'm waiting weeks/months for a feature. :)

Thanks.

I understand. :)

I'm basically in the middle of a major release, whose primary focus is Solution Browser. That'll include Solution Browser performance improvements and persistent cache option.

Once Solution Browser rework's complete, v2.9.x will GA. v2.9.x won't be out for another month or so. v2.10.x is the one, which will likely get File Browser and Code Browser improvements you and other users have been asking for. Add 3 months or so for v2.10.x and that puts its GA roughly in July-Aug time frame.

If interested, beta could be made available about a month or so ahead of GA.

Sounds like a nice release schedule. I'm always willing to help out and beta-test a little, provided I can install it without having to compile :)

Great! I'll keep you posted.

DPack betas are distributed as regular installation applications. They look almost like any other GA release, with few minor exceptions:
* PDBs are included
* Beta has an expiration time
* Logs are always enabled by default

Hi, I thought I'd check back and see if you're closer to releasing yet?

Sorry, it is late as you can tell. I'm still working on Solution Browser issues, trying to get it right before it's released. While I'm getting closer with each beta, I've got several more pending issues to resolve.

Realistically, I'd like to resolve few last issues and complete testing in the next 2-3 weeks, which is doable. I'm off on vacation in early June. So, the plan is to release it mid June. If anything, a new release is long overdue.
